A new law office in Woodlands Hills, Calif., is taking shape to help protect the city from the risk of wildfires, the Los Angeles Times reported Thursday.
The Los Angeles-based Law Office of the President, which opened its doors in Woodlawn on Friday, was created in January to help the city and its agencies from the wildfires raging in the region.
The office is part of the city’s Fire Protection District, which includes Los Angeles County and its neighboring municipalities.
The law office was established after the Los Gatos Fire, which has killed at least 21 people, destroyed or damaged more than 500 homes, destroyed at least 10 bridges and destroyed more than 6,500 acres of forest in the area.
It is the third law office for the city in the past two weeks.
The Law Office is a law office that will provide legal assistance to local government agencies, such as fire fighters, sheriff’s deputies and others, according to the office’s website.
