Tompson, who worked for a law firm called Patton & Spann, has been indicted on fraud charges.
The indictment accuses him of misrepresenting the legal fees that he received for a business venture.
It’s not clear if the business was successful or if the allegations have any bearing on the case.
The Justice Department says that while the investigation is ongoing, “the Office of the Inspector General will be notified whenever it becomes aware of additional material evidence, including criminal or civil charges, that could lead to criminal prosecution.”

The firm was founded in 1878 by two lawyers who later went on to become the Patton-Spann family.

Span said it was aware of the indictments and is cooperating with the investigation.
The statement said, “We are cooperating fully with the criminal investigation and we are cooperating with law enforcement officials in any way we can.”
